Miramar’s “Hangin’ with 5-0” Summer Camp Celebrates 16th Year of Fun and Mentorship

Sunbeam Properties & Development celebrated its 16th year sponsoring the “Hangin’ with 5-0” summer camp, a five-week program organized by the Miramar Police Athletic League and the City of Miramar that connects local youth with police officers through activities that build trust, friendships and community pride.

“Supporting our youth is one of the most meaningful ways we can make a positive impact,” said Ryan Goggins, Vice President of Acquisitions, Leasing and Marketing for Sunbeam Properties & Development. “With our expanded support this year, more Miramar students have gained mentorship and guidance from local law enforcement, experienced opportunities that inspire them, and built relationships that will help shape their futures.”

Since its inception, more than 1,000 students ages 9–14 have participated in the camp, enjoying outings such as beach cleanups, airboat rides, roller skating, and live animal shows, while forming lasting bonds with Miramar police officers.

Sunbeam Properties & Development kicked off the summer with a beach cleanup and barbeque for the campers, to promote volunteerism and giving back to the community.

In addition to Hangin’ with 5-0, Sunbeam Properties and Development supports the City of Miramar through other nonprofit organizations, having donated resources for the Ansin Sports Complex and the Ansin Family Gallery in the Miramar Cultural Center. The Miramar Park of Commerce has also been the site for supply drives for America’s Moms for Soldiers, several holiday toy drives for Miramar children in need with the Miramar Police Department, a school supply drive for children who have a military parent on deployment and a food drive for United Way of Broward County.
